star wars, shopping and art class

I. Star Wars: Clone Wars isn't so bad. It was actually good, but just not super good.

pros: good fight scenes, quite humorous (i love the droids and troops)
cons: jedi fight scenes are a bit boring, wish they'd just use better models

II. The thing about shopping for clothes is that every time i go to the mall, i decide to not buy anything green or brown. This really fails since no matter what i choose, i get stressed and i end up going back home with nothing.

III. What comes to your mind when you hear the words "conviction" or "paninindigan". I'm supposed to make a wallpaper about it, so if you guys have anything interesting, please tell me. =D

There's some confusion about how all this came about but the short version and accepted story is that when Zeus first wife became pregnant Zeus swallowed her. In her captured state she began to make a robe and helmet for her soon to be born daughter. The hammering of the helmet caused Zeus great pain in the form of a migraine headache. His son Hephaestus ran to his father and cracked open his skull and from it emerged Athena, fully grown and wearing her new armor. Having been born of gods and infused with Zeus's power a second time made Athena one of the most powerful gods on Earth proving that it's not just a mans place on the battlefield. In acts of war, women are equal if not more cruel and it's thanks to her that we all recognize this. (Or did for a while) Her followers built the city of Athens for her and she's been receiving nods of recognition ever since. Her following has dwindled in recent centuries because people don't often bring wisdom into battle with them. Preferring instead the more "in your face" approach of Mars. However those who want to actually win a war and bring back some living troops might want to start sending a few prayers her way and build a temple or two. Anti-Rape Law of 1997

this is only a part and is incomplete. brought up in relation to a debate on non-female rape cases and the subic rape case.

3. Fourth mode of committing rape. - Prior to 1997, rape is considered committed by having carnal knowledge of a woman: (1) by using force or intimidation; (2) when the woman is deprived of reason or otherwise unconscious; or (3) when the woman is under twelve years of age or is demented. The new law added a fourth mode of committing rape on a woman – by fraudulent machination or grave abuse of authority.

4. Rape may now be committed against men, not only against women. Rape is committed by “any person who xxx shall commit an act of sexual assault by inserting his penis into another person’s mouth or anal orifice, or any instrument or object, into the genital or anal orifice of another person.”

5. Rape now includes acts other than penile penetration of the vaginal orifice. The provision quoted above means that, among other things, a woman may now be charged of raping another woman.

6. On statutory rape. - The new law provides that statutory rape may be committed even though none of the three other modes are present. RA 8353 provides that rape is committed by “a man who shall have carnal knowledge of a woman under any of the following circumstances:

a) Through force, threat, or intimidation;
b) When the offended party is deprived of reason or otherwise unconscious;
c) By means of fraudulent machination or grave abuse of authority; and
d) When the offended party is under twelve (12) years of age or is demented, even though none of the circumstances mentioned above be present.”

7. Kind of resistance and proof. Any physical overt act manifesting resistance against the rape in any degree from the victim is admissible as evidence of lack of consent. Tenacious resistance, however, is not required. Neither is a determined and persistent physical struggle on the part of the victim necessary. In drafting the new law, the legislators agreed that Article 266-D is intended to “soften the jurisprudence of the 1970’s” when resistance to rape was required to be tenacious. The lawmakers took note of the fact that rape victims cannot mount a physical struggle in cases where they were gripped by overpowering fear or subjugated by moral authority. Article 266-D tempered the case law requirement of physical struggle by the victim with the victim’s fear of the rapist or incapacity to give valid consent. Thus, the law now provides that resistance may be proved by any physical overt act in any degree from the offended party (People vs. Dulay).

some stuff... I, II, III

I. Things to do for this week:

Monday: enroll my brother. my mom left him to me, so yeah. hassle.
Tuesday - Wednesday: naga. i'll enroll myself and arrange my accommodations for the coming school year.
Thursday - Friday: get a driver's license, fix bank stuff (i broke and then lost my atm card) and other papers. i'm confused about the paper things.

II. Alam kong medyo mahirap ako pakisamahan nowadays so sorry to those concerned. I've been having mood swing - like things recently. One moment i'm unreasonably happy and the next you'll find me sulking in the corner. I know it's weird, but i'm working on it. ^^_ it'll pass away in time, just like before.

III. Stay Awake from All Time Low. I can't find a music vid so just listen to the audio. Really nice song. It fits my current mood.
